Free widgets for your own site
Every store listed on Mervo can show these widgets on its own site, free of charge, whether or not it pays us for anything.
Three widgets
Lowest price
For one product on your own product page: the lowest price across all stores on Mervo right now (total price including shipping), your own price and your place. You switch it on product by product in the merchant portal, which shows how often you were the cheapest before you install it.
If you are rarely the cheapest for a product, do not install it: your visitors will see that others are cheaper. We tell you so in the portal.
Price proof
For a product you are discounting: that your advertised before price is the lowest price you charged in the period the law requires. It shows only while our verdict on the reduction you are running is 'compliant', and disappears automatically if that changes. You cannot switch that off.
Store of the Year
For a winner of the published Store of the Year in this market: the year, the market and the category come from the award record, never from the code on your page.
No cookies, no tracking
- The widget sets no cookies and uses no browser storage of any kind: no local or session storage, no IndexedDB.
- No fingerprinting, and the address of your page is not sent to us.
- Nothing is logged about your visitors. We keep one number: how many times each widget was shown per day, per store.
- No fonts, analytics or ads from anyone else are loaded.
In the EU and the EEA that means you need no change to your consent banner to install it.
How the numbers are calculated
Rating: verified purchase reviews from Omdio in Finland, counting each customer's first review. Badges follow Omdio's own rules. Ownership and independence
Lowest price: the order on our product page, following our published ranking: total price including shipping. How we rank
Price proof in Finland: the advertised before price must be the lowest price the store charged in the 30 days before the reduction. Perishable food is outside the rule, so it never gets a price proof. In a campaign with stepwise reductions the price before the first step counts for at most 60 days. How we check discounts
Omdio has the same owner as Mervo
Omdio is run by the same owner as Mervo. Omdio collects reviews only from verified purchases, and Mervo has no influence over what reviewers write or what is published.
Install in three steps
- Sign in to the merchant portal (free) and open Widgets. Open the widget generator
- Choose the widget, the product, size, light or dark theme and language. The preview shows exactly what your visitors will see.
- Copy the snippet and paste it where the widget should appear on your site. It keeps itself up to date.
Rules
You may
- Choose the light or the dark variant to suit your page.
- Choose the compact or the standard size.
- Place the badge anywhere in the flow of your page, with at least 8 px of free space around it.
- Remove the badge at any time.
You may not
- Change its colours, type, borders or corners, or add shadows or effects.
- Scale, crop, rotate or turn it into an image: it is live text.
- Edit its figures, dates or serial numbers.
- Show a price proof for another product, or after it has been withdrawn.
- Show Store of the Year for another year, market or category.
- Place a badge inside or next to discount stickers, countdowns or sale banners.
The first three cannot be done: the badge draws itself from our data, as text, in its own sealed space on your page. A price proof only appears for the product and offer it was issued for and disappears the moment it stops being true, and Store of the Year only appears for the year, market and category in our award record: we check both on our side, not in your code.
- It stops working if your store leaves Mervo or your merchant account is suspended, and the price proof disappears when our verdict changes.
- It is free and stays free: showing a widget never affects your place on Mervo.
